Yoko Fukui Seubert has two licenses to practice psychotherapy in Texas: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She is an active member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), a national professional organization. She is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, as well as an Approved Supervisor by the Texas Board of Examiners for LPC and LMFT. Her professional affiliations also include Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (TAMFT) and Houston Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (HAMFT). She has been a Red Cross Disaster Mental Health volunteer since 2001. In 2010, she co-founded Tonarigumi, which is a community-based group in the Greater Houston area that assists Japanese and Japanese Americans in need.

Yoko has been with Family Enrichment Clinic since 1995. She began providing family/ couple, individual, and group therapy services in 1998. She works with clients of diverse ethnicities, ages, and genders. Her therapeutic approach is solution and goal-focused, family therapy-based, and client-centered.

As a native of Japan, who came to the U.S. at the age of 7, Yoko can conduct therapy fluently in English and Japanese. Upon graduation from high school, she returned to Japan to attend the International Christian University, where she received her BA in psychology. She then came to Houston in 1995 to attend the University of Houston – Clear Lake, where she received her MA in marriage and family therapy. In 2010, she completed 128 hours of study prescribed in The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists’ Postgraduate Training Courses.

Her cultural background has helped Yoko understand and become effective in working through acculturation and generation gap issues in families. She feels that it is a privilege that her clients can trust her to share their most private concerns. She is in an intercultural/interracial marriage and is a mother of multiples to biracial children. She has extensive experience in working with couples and families with diverse backgrounds. She is passionate about working with couples to improve their relationships. Her area of specialty includes sex therapy with couples dealing with sexual dysfunction, infidelity, infertility, and addiction.
